Come On Beckett. Lets Go GOLFING!
Dissapointed, all I can say at this point of the season. After the worst collpase in Sepetember last year, it doesnt look like it will get any better this year for beantown. Plus it really makes me feel better when our supposed to be ace is taking a day off for "back pain" really just to play golf with his buddies. Thanks for the help Beckett, after giving up 7 earned runs yesterday in 2 1/3 innings.

Im in Depression
Thanks to the bruins losing in overtime last night, now I am in a severe depression. Now I hate sports and everything to do with them because its always just a big disapointment. I think now im quiting life and sports because really they give me no satisfaction, just depression and sadness. I feel sad but atleast my parents bought me mlb.tv so i can watch every redsox game for the rest of the season. Now I have something to look foward to even though the sox have a (7-10) record....

Fenway's 100 Year Anniversary 4/20
Today many people are viewing it ass National pot day, but I view it as Fanway Park's 100th year anniversary. The park was built April 20th in the year 1912, the same year the titanic sank. This is a great day for most Bostonians looking at all the history that was put into this park. This anniversary is greeted with the coming of the New York Yankees (7-6) in to Boston (4-8). Lets Go Sox!

Bruins Recent Skid
Lately the Bruins have been inconsitent as the playoff race heats up. For many bostonians it is now crunch time, hoping to defend the title they won last year. As a bruins fan im a little nervous looking at the playoffs because of inconsistent play. To be honest and hate to say it I believe this is the rangers year since the winning years for them. I remember the rangers used to suck, and all of a sudden they are in first place, and have clinched the playoffs. Once again the damn buffalo sabres make the playoffs which piss me of cause they play shitty and somehow make it in the eighth spot. yay....not. Honestly it doesnt look good for the bruins this day, but they better win it anyways or ill be pissed. Same with the sox because opening day is only a week ago.

The art of a book review! English 2k12
Hmmmm...so let me tell you about the book I have just read it's called Flags of Our Fathers written by James Bradley. You may have heard of it because of how popular it really is, and maybe have seen the famous image of the soldiers holding up the American flag on the island of Iwo Jima. this book does an amazing job in showing he real side of how was was by telling the different stories of each of the members holding up the American Flag in which is said to be one of America's most motivating movements. Many of us have many different aspects in how war is, and this book gives the reader and idealistic view on how gruesome war can really be. Through this book we are given insight and mindless possibilities in how bitter war actually is. I remember when I played Call of Duty 4 I would tell my parents i would want to go to war, but growing up and reading this book gave an opposite 180 degree view on the subject. Many believe war is some glamorous thing but after reading this book war is not glamorous by and stretch and many ideas are challenged by this. Bradley, in writing his book, actually drew letters and pictures after his father died trying to recreate the vision his father had. His father had refused really to discuss any details from when he was over seas, only saying that the real heroes are the ones that didn't return back home. Three of the people he intended that statement for were actually a part of his crew and rose the flag on Mount Suribachi. During the cliamx of the novel are the horrific experiences that the soldiers had to face both throughout the war and after. It was apparent that Bradley's father suffered from the disease that many suffered which is post taumatic stress disorder. This book, which is technically a first hand account, talks about the media coverage of the event in man parts. The real message of the book is to understand the nature of sacrifice that ordinary people like you and I made to protect the wellbeing of human beings and the civil liberties we gphave been rewarded with. Bradeley throughout the book shares the stories of the men that were closest with his father.
The symbol of this book that is most apparent is imagery, one being the flag raised that was portrayed by the media totally wrong. The famous image was actually photographed before the battle took please as we all learned in eighth grade history class. The false image gave many people hope back home in the states, but was really a false sense in reality. Many men lost their lives following the day of the flag being risen. The image that the people saw through media symbolized American success in the war, like they have already conquered the Japanese when in fact they were suffering from the loss of American soldiers. Bradley made sure to get the point across that his father never felt heroic by rasing the flag, but when he would help his fellow soldiers. The media's perception was one that only served as a benefit to the country and the idea of bravery. Bradley's father never wished to take part in ceremonies that honored the raising of the flag, seeing it as inaccurate and false assumptions. He believed that this was not focusing on the real heroes of war which he believes are the ones who lost their life in the Pacific. The detailed events of the battles were wicked cool and made you feel like you were actually there. It is sad to think that the soldiers viewing these horrific scenes ultimately had consequences in the long run. People could never understand the real viewpoints of war without reading Bradley's book. The phony image is the flag being risen makes it upsetting to people who aren't ignorant to the war, and makes it harder for the people that were affiliated in any way to deal with it.
The number one strength to the book is the detailed imagery to the battles. It almost feels like a diary of the men at Iwo Jima as it gives a lot of description of each individual day that they were there. While at times the book caused and emotional pause or two, it was very cool, making the book hard to put down. It is also based on real time experiences from a man who was on a mission at the beach of Iwo Jima serving his nation at this super important and crucial time period in the history of our country. His experiences should be read and are very much relatable to men and women serving in combat, especially in this time with the wa in the Middle East. At points these detailed images were weaknesses to the book. It was almost to descriptive that at point grew tedious and monotonous and at times just plain BORING!! It also seems to fit into the sterotypical war novel that everyone reads with a few twists. It is hard to find any other weaknesses to the book judging that it is considered a must read book. It is really well written, historically accurate, and helps the reader gain a new sense of appreciation for all the sacrifices our soldiers take I'm any war. Both during the war and after the war! In my opinion I would give the book 4 out of 5 stars! Read it kids that think cod 4 is real!

My first blog.... Hmm what to write? I'm going to write on how much I personally hate Syracuse and their athletics. (especially basketball) So I hate that every time the S.U basketball team loses it's because the poor officiating or because they played horrible. They never admit defeat which is puzzling to me especially because most of the times the classy team is better. NO not SU. Already accused of two violations I would believe that this is Jim bohiem's last year. Sorry Jim. After losing to a alright Cincinnati bearcats team this really troubles the critics. Coming from a family that loves Syracuse all I heard is how cincinnati shot almost perfect from the three point line which directly translates to the downfall of the number 2 seed. All I want is for the fans to admit they lost because of Cincinnati well played game instead of them shooting lights out and gave S.U no chance. Like damn just grow up at this point. I always use the slogan, you can't spell suck without SU. Not saying the talent sucks, but the overall attitude of the team and local newspapers/writers. Last though is I dislike with a Passion deon waiters! Like damn he's a cocky asshole, but then misses wide open layups at the end of games! Haha! Just remember Syracuse youve played the school of the blind this season! Get ready for the big boys in the tournament....
